Host setup

  • Host opens Guess Your Teammate and creates a room.
  • Share room code or invite link so everyone can join.
  • Players confirm display name and optional photo (Google profile can auto-fill).
  • Host starts when at least 3 players are in.

How a round works

  • Moxie randomly selects one mystery teammate.
  • Only the mystery teammate is told privately.
  • Non-mystery players take turns asking one yes/no style question.
  • Mystery teammate answers privately with Yes, No, or Maybe.
  • Question + answer reveal to the whole room for 30 seconds.
  • Players eliminate cards locally and can submit a guess anytime.

Scoring / win

  • First correct guess wins the round immediately.
  • Incorrect guesses do not end the round.
  • Host can click Play Again to reset and run another round.

House rules

  • Keep questions light and workplace-friendly.
  • Avoid sensitive topics (salary, politics, religion, health, family status).
  • One question per turn, then wait for reveal.
  • Eliminations are local to your own board only.

Host tips

  • Remind players to ask broad questions first, then narrow down.
  • Keep pace by moving quickly after each 30-second reveal.
  • Run two short rounds instead of one long round for better energy.

Player tips

  • Use elimination every turn so you do not lose track.
  • Ask questions that split the room, not niche personal facts.
  • Guess only when your board is meaningfully narrowed.
